[ILUG] Help needed about Broadband Ratio?

Bear in mind that the standard contention ratio of ~24:1 could also be
practically unusable if everyone is downloading at once. In my
experience, the contention ratio itself is fairly meaningless. With
Eircom DSL I was always pretty much bang on max speed at all times.
With a bad quality ISP, even offering a better contention ratio, you
might be on a fraction of your max bandwidth at all times. In practice,
consistency and reliability is more important and the best thing is to
find someone in your area who has this connection and ask them about it.
