Hi folks
Frank Duignan and I are looking for support to help promote Linux at the
Computer Education Society of Irelands annual conference which takes place
on February 8th and 9th in Tallaght, Dublin
The CESI ( www.cesi.ie ) is the subject association for computers in primary
and secondary schools. The conference will attract some of the key people
involved in promoting the use of computers in education. These will include
teachers, ICT Coordinators, regional IT Advisors and personnel from the NCTE
(National Centre for Technology in Education www.ncte.ie ). More details on
the conference at http://www.cesi.ie/conference/index.html
Another ILUGer, Gavin McCullough, will be giving a presentation on Edubuntu
on the Friday. What we intend to do is run an internet cafe with circa 6
thin client terminals based on Edubuntu. This will give the conference
attendees the opportunity to try out Linux and see what it has to offer
schools.
If you are interested in getting involved or want more details let us know.
