Only from F8,  XP, Vista ok.

Using cifs, don't know anything else, barely know cifs.

Added the F8 box to
/etc/samba/lmhosts.  ip Machine name
seemed to do the trick
noticed the server was creating logs in /var/logs/samba
for ip as well as machine-name.
