Cute.  Your car is fitted with a fancy asterisk air conditioner.  Opening the 
glovebox causes the car to cut out.  The car vendor says that you are not 
supposed to open the glovebox because the car has a special air conditioner 
and a sun roof.  When the car's wiring burns out in a few months, the vendor 
will say it's not covered by the warranty - you opened the glovebox, after 
all.

FWIW, all sorts of strange problems are caused by bad memory.
