That's down to what I mentioned earlier - pixel size - rather larger on
a TV than a monitor, and is a large part of the difference in cost  
between
a 30" monitor and a 30" TV.

Depends what you're doing. My 32" TV isn't full HD so it's 1366x768 or  
thereabouts
and so appears a bit clunky with text. But then, I don't try to use it  
for working,
just for the odd media watching.  IMO a 30" screen is too big for  
working with anyway
as you have to sit too far back from it. Of course graphics designers  
etc. with
specialised needs find such screens useful, but it's horse for courses.
