A lot of other Irish hosters exist: Blacknight.com, Irishdomains.com,
Webworld.ie etc. The Irish ISP sector (apart from Digiweb.ie) has
consistently lost marketshare for the last few years and pureplay Hosting
Service Providers (HSPs) such as Blacknight, Irishdomains, Webworld and
previously Hosting365.ie that have taken over the market. In real terms
the HSPs have the majority of the market now. Digiweb.ie has made a
serious play for the dominance of the Irish hosting market and over the
last few years has grown the hosting aspect of its business dramatically.
The other ISPs such as Eircom.net and Esat.net have lost out. Esat.net
hosting has been dogged by poor quality management and the lack of any
clue when it came to retail hosting. Eircom.net has tried to get back in
the hosting business but a series of poor marketing decisions has limited
its effectiveness.
