 This be connected to the new package system from Sun; IPS, Image Packaging
 System.  The .p5i files are used with a mime type to launch the
package manager on
 the opensolaris distro(s).

 These have nothing to do with the Solaris 10,9 etc packages which are
SVR5 based.

 If you need the SUNWsmcmd package you'll have to have the media (iso
image etc)
  of the Solaris version you're running.  The individual packages for
Solaris 10 etc aren't
  freely redistributable, unlike the opensolaris based ones.
