Thanks Gar and Frank. Having studied editing I suppose I qualify as 'knowing
stuff'. I would have to learn how to use Linux editing software. From
reading the ubuntuforums it seems each program has its strengths and
weakness. You may have to use more than one do what you want. Which means
more learning. As I said I dont have a laptop so not sure how I could
prepare a lesson to bring. Oh and I'm a Linux noob, have zero experience as
a teacher and a stutter. But if people want to listen to me I'm happy to
oblige. Or pass the buck onto Frank :)

Reminder Luis will have a multimedia talk at OSS barcamp, I saw him run
multiple videos from the command line and other stuff which looked really
really cool. I highly recommend people go.

BTW Gar, when I met you at the EAGM I asked about capturing from a
camcorder. Since my camera didn't recognise the device. I've since found out

side note, when someone put forward the need to code a new editing program,
I suggested building the UI first. testing it, make it friendly, then do the
backend coding. Can anyone who can code tell if if that makes it easier or
harder.
