Yes, there seems to be a dearth of information on this second offer.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone.
I'm not planning on using the machine for audio,
just httpd, mysql, ldap, etc.

I'm going for the Intel machine, as this has an explicit warranty,
and full specification.

I don't understand why these servers are so cheap.

I bought a very cheap Dell server about a year ago,
and this has been working perfectly.

(The only problem is that one of the two memory modules failed,
and after putting in Dell's replacement, whenever I re-boot -
which is very seldom - I get a warning that 
the "memory configuration is not optimal",
and I have to press F1 to re-boot.
This means that I cannot re-boot remotely,
which I might conceivably want to do some time.
I've looked around for a solution to this, but haven't found one.)

Incidentally, I quite like the idea of going for HP,
which seems to be increasing its operation here,
while Dell appears to be moving out of Ireland.
