No idea about the relative merits, but I've got "Elementary Linear 
Algebra, Applications Edition", 9th ed, Anton Rores which seems good 
- mostly cause it finishes with a fairly long chapter on a bunch of 
practical applications of linear algebra -> which seems very useful.
