No joy, I'm afraid. I'm wondering if my issue may be related to this
bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/446146 


Maybe I'll wait till Thursday and hope they get a decent fix out in
early updates.

On a separate topic, does Debian deserve its reputation for being Hard
For Noobs? I like SUSE, but I miss the simplicity of apt-get.
