Couple of things:
a) Is this mount purely for desktop use?
If yes, you'd almost certainly be better off using the GVFS/samba
support inside GNOME:
Places -> Connect to Server... -> <fill in the blanks>
You may need to ensure you have gvfs-smb installed
b) That your NAS has user IDs makes me suspect it might possibly be a
Unix box of some sort. If so, why not just use NFS?
