[ILUG] Flat panel monitors (TFT LCD) - advice?

 What I was trying to do is avoid any subsequent discussion or
 suggestions from focusing on what, for me, is not-relevant.
 
 This is obviously not my day for clarity!  Might be related
 to the claret?
