I've just recently got a D-Link DNS-323, and put 2 x 1TB disks into it
set up as RAID-1. It has a fan, but it's quiet enough to sit on the desk
beside me. I've only just started to play with it, but it does file
sharing over SMB, FTP, uPnP, etc, can act as an ITunes server, etc etc.

I got it from Amazon (UK); they advertise a deal on the enclosure and
the disks together, but I actually got it a little cheaper by getting
them separately.

Ray.
