[ILUG] Trouble installing Ubuntu

Oddly enough, I don't seem to be able to enter any kernel options.
I go to the "advanced" menu option in the grub boot loader.  I have one
menu item "Back..."
Hitting the tab key does nothing.  I can't seem to edit anything or add any
kernel boot params.
