Hi David,

Back in 2001, I founded the Johannesburg Area Wireless User Group using some
old equipment from a defunct Wireless ISP.
The aim wasn't to create a broadband network, it was to create a network for
experimenting and learning about technology.

When I moved to Ireland 5 years ago, one of the first things I did was look
for a Community run Wireless Network. I came across Irishwan, and wasn't
even able to sign up.

I'm still actively involved in Jawug, but I'm always looking for something
to do locally and would be keen to get involved with anything that pops
up...

Regards,
Kieran.
