OK. It sounds like that would not suit "us", but I'm not an Accountant,
and cannot make that final call.

Yep...
Obviously, all the main VAT mechanisms are in there (Accrual, Cash...),
and it would mean that both mechanisms would be active in the same
schema - Accrual for Purchases, and Cash for Sales. Maybe a small task
for someone familiar with the internals?

I have no clue on which countries allow the Cash option on Sales, or on
Purchases, and on any minor variations in the mechanism. Perhaps this
type of info might be discussed in the Adempiere forums, or might be on
some "to-do" lists for the product?
