You can't move the iPad source to the TV - they don't have anything in
common. Well apart from some [alleged] mutual patent infrigements but
that's not the same thing.
I can confirm using the official Android version does not by pass the
controls because it's the BBC servers that do the check.
All of the radio output is available worldwide and I use get_iplayer's very
nice pvr functions to grab the radio programmes I'd miss during the week to
listen on my daily commute.
But I also went the freeview satellite route for my TV needs. It also works
for ITV which uses some Microsoft based DRM on their ITV player which
unsurprisingly didn't work on Linux when I lived in the UK.
