Rich text format files are supposed to be readable by KOffice. Don't know
how much that's come on but I think it's shite anyway (at the risk of
starting a flame war).
The way to go is to remove koffice using kpackage, and install Openoffice
instead. If disk space is a problem, you'll need Abiword (I have a gtk
version that runs under Lycoris -because the main binary uses Gnome Libraries
which Lycoris doesn't supply.
Some cool apps to check out for text MSWordview is very handy if you want to
check Word attachments quickly (strips out the M$ crap and shows the text
only). Catdoc and wv (wordview) don't do the tables / bullets as well.
I'm using Sylpheed/Dillo for most mail now (this is on kmail still) but it's
really fast. Dillo or gzilla is sooo much faster for looking at html links.
One more to come from me
