Hi All
Thought I should let you know that there are moves already afoot in Ireland
against the eVoting system currently being piloted. I was at http://www.linuxuserexpo.co.uk/
the last two days and was talking to Jason Kitcat (he of GNU-Free fame -who
wrote an e-voting system but his experiences in doing so have led him to advocate
now to the contrary -maybe I have that wrong but I'll be reading his site and
that at the DCU to see how we ought to lend our weight to the existing campaign
rather than start afresh as a 'fork'.
It would be nice if you could have a look at the DCU link below before our next
meeting next Friday. Missed two night's sleep (almost) in expo travel so I'll
do same at the w/e.
See you all Friday I hope.
Mel
ps: I think it's time as well to formalise the upload of content to the MiLUG
site, so we can proceed with both this eVoting activity and our proposed InstallFest
in Athlone.
Hi
Good to meet you at the LinuxUser conference the other day.
Just to say that as I mentioned we have tons of stuff on our website,
http://www.free-project.org which could be of use to you.
The Irish campaign that I mentioned can be found here:
http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~afrodite/E-Voting/
Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Best regards,
Jason
