[ILUG-Social] ILUG really quiet?

Too right! I know it sounds like 'I told ya so' but I remember reading the
conept document on some website just about the time it was announced and I
remember thinking that it sounded like a dead duck before even a camera rell
had turned. Lets face it, few of these "we'll get there someday" type of
concepts have taken off. I cite ST:Voyager and the enormous joke that is
"The First Wave" as notable examples. Infact our national broadcaster has
deemed to air these in place of more worthy conentders like Stargare SG-1
(which is a fairly above average series) and Earth: Final Conflict which is
the best thing to come along since B5 and, in my opinion, is up there with
it, loosing to B5 by only a hair's breadth. The few episodes of Crusade I
did watch saw the series jumping from one religous myth to the next. God
only knows what would have happened had it been let run its course. I'm a
fan of Gary Cole but even he couldn't pull this turkey into life. Those who
have seen American Gothic will know what I mean. In fact, on the subject
of AG, it didn't deserve to be cut after season 1 whereas Crusade should
have earned JMS a good thumping from some studio exec at the merest mention
of it ever making it to the small screen. I'd prefer to see C4 continuing
on with B5 re-runs - at least that way you could look back and marvel at how
well constructed it was and still be entertained, even now, 2 years after
the conclusion.
