That's a very cynical attitude. My experiences suggest that most people are
decent(tm) and good(tm). For example... here we are talking on a list that
represents a community of people involved - to greater or lesser degrees -
in a movement (albeit merely software) where the philosophy is one
emphasising cooperation (the Sesame Street ideal) and working not solely for
individual gain but to benefit your community fellows.

However, that said, since you can only vote for valid electoral candidates,
sometimes it's a matter of trying to pick the best of a bad lot... if you
lie down with the dogs, you wake up with the fleas.
