Zimmerman Electronics in Darmstadt, Germany (www.zeg-shop.de) - my former
supplier. Last thing I checked was a 933 MHz FCPGA Pentium III - 499 from
Scan, 433 from Zimmermann (both prices ex. VAT in UK£). This was a while
ago, hence those prices probably seem high, but as the Euro has sunk even
lower since then, the differential may be even greater. Note that as most
computer parts are effectively priced in US$ world-wide, European prices
will have gone up as the Euro went down. There is a window in favour of the
Euro at the moment - for instance, I'm thinking of replacing my Pilot (it's
unwell, and surgical intervention has helped somewhat but did not effect a
complete cure) and some options I've priced are currently actually cheaper
in Ireland than in the U.S.
Regards,
Niall
