[ILUG-Social] NTL scraps phone, TV and online plan

Hi all,

I've just spoken to NTL about this, and as usual their customer service
staff know nothing about this. They have however been told to continue
selling cable internet in the areas in which it has been installed to
date, i.e. Tallaght, Kilnamanagh et al.

While on my way to work recently, I was informed by the taxi driver that
he has the cable internet service, telephone service and cable tv, all
for £20 a month (plus telephone call charges obviously), which is
significantly lower than the £50 price tag that was mentioned on this
list in the last couple of months.

_IF_ they are planning to get out of the cable internet market, it could
be because they have had to cut their prices to an unfeasibly low level
to attract any real consumer interest? As if this wasn't enough, they
don't even have plans to roll out in the city center until at least the
end of this year.

Regards,

Ruairi
