For those who missed the Chilli dinner night at John's house, here are
the recipes you missed! All recipes are in American/Imperial
measurements, convert at your own risk!

=> Amy and Sean's Chilli

1 Can Red Kidney Beans (liquid and all)
1 Can Chopped Tomatoes (liquid and all)
1 Teaspoon Chilli Powder, suited to taste (mild, hot, extra hot, etc)

Variations:

* To increase chilli flavor, add more chilli powder

* For thicker chilli, add tomato puree

* For spicier flavor, add some Dave's Insanity Sauce (one drop per gallon
of chilli)

* Add fresh diced onions upon serving

* Add fresh grated cheddar cheese upon serving

* Serve over rice

=> Toll House Cookies

2 1/4 Cups plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 Cup white sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 Cups Chocolate Chips
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 Cup (1/2 pound) softened butter
3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs

Combine flour, soda, and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, white sugar,
brown sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each.
 Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips. Drop by rounded
tablespoon onto oiled or buttered baking tray. Bake at 185C/375F for 9
to 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Let stand 2 minutes.
Variations:

* Rather than drop by rounded tablespoon for individual cookies, place
entire mixture in cake pan, and cut into bar cookies when cool.

* If chocolate chips are not readily available, cut a chocolate bar into
triangle pieces the size of nail on your little finger, or use "Cadbury
Buttons".

* Add 1 cup of walnuts, or pecans or almonds

* Serve warm in a bowl with vanilla ice cream

=> Fool Proof Chocolate Cake

1 1/2 Cup self rising flour
3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 Cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 Tablespoons of oil
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 Cup cold water

Mix flour, cocoa, soda, sugar and salt. Make 3 divots or pools for
liquids in mixture. Pour oil in one divot, vanilla in another divot, and
vinegar in the third divot. Mix well, until white flour is no longer
visible. Pour into oiled or buttered cake pan, and make sure to spread
evenly with back of spoon. Bake at 180C/350F for 15-20 minutes.

Variations:

* Add 1 cup of walnuts, or pecans or almonds

* Add chocolate chips

* Cut in half lengthwise and add whipping cream

* Serve warm with ice cream
