I had refrained from posting ... since this thread has drifted so far out of
ILUG territory (even for social)

a quick search shows a distinct lack of evidence either way ... (the last
article being from 1999 ! )

Not that it matters ... I'd imagine the matter is of little relevance to
anyone on the ILUG. The original post (by Donncha) had some relevance to the
general membership of the ILUG, but the flame-wars over our being net
contributors / net receivers is totally irrelevant to the ILUG ... 

We are not a political forum, there are many better places to discuss these
issues in detail, and I'm quite sure Kate, as a dedicated committee member,
is more than serious with his offer to host the conflict-resolution process.
