And it's only on flights from Gatwick to Ireland, in my experience.
Passengers to other destinations at Gatwick take a different route.
(I tried to go through one of the other queues, since it was shorter,
but the security guy sent me back over to the Ireland one.)
And other UK airports don't do this.
