Some of ye are quite likely aware of these developments already, but I
thought it might be worthwhile to mention that the notion of "free and
open-source" has been enthusiastically adopted beyond the realm of
software. Lists of open-source hardware and design projects are
maintained at the following URLS :
http://www.open-innovation-projects.org/
http://www.opencollector.org/
http://www.opencores.org/
Some of the more noteworthy projects are listed in the Wikipedia article
on the subject : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_hardware
I'm interested in exploring the possibility of working on some of these
projects myself at some stage down the line (including in a 'hands-on' sense -
i.e. building the actual hardware), and am willing to share the few
resources that I have with anyone else who might be. Thus, if you're
interested, feel free to get in touch.

P.S. It's a pity to witness this list succumbing to spammers. If some
sort of help in moderating the list is needed, I might be able to help.
