Having been as courteous as I could be, I take great offense to this.

Speaking personally, I don't want a linux.ie email address. I'm quite happy
with a frontend.ie one. What I WOULD like though, is a page that relects
the community behind it, that isn't just a scrawl of notes, bandied together
with no real direction. It's quite a shame actually.. the ILUG has grown
into a huge community, and the linux.ie page does it no justice whatsoever.

I have done quite a bit of work with this, and written out a lot of notes as
to what are the current design faults with linux.ie, how they could be
overcome, what sort of back end there should be to this, even done up a
simple mockup (http://193.120.148.178/~john/linux.gif), and find it quite
offensive that you think this about users.

The fact is that people want a change. I can't speak for the rest of the
"about 10" that you mentioned, but I can guess the reason nothing has been
done is.. noone knows what the status of it is.. should we go ahead with a
redesign? or do you wish to go ahead with a redesign without the input of
people who volunteered (which seems to be the case).

Gotta wonder...
